From first of January 2015 all software to be released developed based on Java 8.xx. This is necessary to address security of users in face of new emerging threats.
Java 8.xx JRE and other software items related to it are free and open source and if not installed on your device by default can be acquired from Oracle Java Site.
Compatibility with different operating systems will be fully considered.
